Hard to believe that March isn’t even over. We just had our busiest month yet!
March 6 – We were at La Consolacion Manila for the whole day, delivering CareerCamp sessions to their graduating students. We also evaluated resumes during the job fair, making sure that the students knew what kind of professional impression their resume was giving. (Even if your resume is stellar, you still need to have it checked by someone who can edit. Please!)
March 16 – The Philippine Star printed an article written by our intern, Rica Fernandez, about the CareerCamp at LCCM. Congrats, Rica!
CareerCamp days tend to start early for us, and today was no exception. I was at Discovery Suites Ortigas before 7:30 AM because I was the first speaker at “Lex Seminarium and CareerCamp,” a practicum orientation seminar for San Beda Manila’s Legal Management juniors.
After a quick coffee and bagel (fuel for the career speaker), I spoke for about an hour, giving the students 10 tips to avoid becoming the “annoying applicant” that every HR practitioner, hiring manager, and recruiter encounters at least once a day. Loved that the students were dressed to impress, going corporate with their blazers, skirts, ties, suspenders and all. Some were a little too dressy, but that’s another talk entirely!
